Facial Esthetics

Dr. Rodriguez began developing his facial esthetics program back in 1998.  At the time he was looking for a better treatment option for his patients suffering from severe bruxism (clenching/grinding) and headaches.  At that time occlusal guards (nightguards) were the primary treatment for this condition.  Many patients had difficulty wearing these appliances at bedtime.  Other patients, specifically those who squeezed/clenched their teeth at night became worse from the appliance as it would encourage them to squeeze even harder than without it.

Frustrated with current treatment options he began looking for alternatives. That alternative was Botox. Almost overnight patients suffering from Bruxism, Headaches and OroFacial Pain got better. As an aside, In October 2010 the FDA would officially approve Botox for the treatment of migraine headaches using the same protocol that we were using since 1998. Serendipitously the same patients looked fantastic due to the cosmetic effects of Botox and thus was born the Facial Esthetics program at Dental Arts of Sunset

As a dentist, offering Botox in those days was bound to produce a puzzled look in our patient’s faces. The reality is that as dentists we are experts at giving injections since we spend most of the day administering them (in the mouth no less). Our specialized training and working knowledge of the anatomy of the head and neck gives us a unique advantage in understanding the cosmetic needs of our patients. This certainly holds true for Botox but really shines in our use of dermal fillers (Juvederm and Restylane etc), Vampire Facial and Vampire Facelift procedures.

We get a lot of questions about our Vampire Facial and Facelift procedure. While this is the newest facial esthetics treatment modality in our office Dr. Rodriguez has been using PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) since he was an implant surgery resident at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital back in 1998. We have used it in our practice to accelerate wound healing and enhance our implant dentistry program. The Vampire procedures are geared towards those patients looking for a natural alternative to Botox and Dermal Fillers. The advantage over those others is that we can harvest a large amount of PRP and treat the entire face in one treatment. The skin looks absolutely smooth and hydrated following treatment and it stimulates the formation of new collagen. Best of all it all comes from your body so it’s completely natural and safe for all.

We encourage you to ask for a complimentary consultation on how we can help you look your best with our complete line of facial esthetics procedures.
